CATEGORY OF AUDITOR | WHAT IS 1ST, 2ND & 3RD PATY AUDITOR?
An audit or auditor has a few categories which depend on their nature, institution and relationship. There are 3 types of audit or auditor category; 1st party audit, 2nd party audit and 3rd party audit. Let’s learn about those.
- ● First Party: a company that “self-audits” their own employment site using their own audit resource. That’s audit called First Party Audit & that’s auditor called First Party Auditor.
- ● Second Party: an audit or assessment undertaken by a body with a trading relationship with the site such as a retailer, brand, vendor or agent. That’s audit called Second Party Audit & auditor called Second Party Auditor.
- ● Third Party: an audit or assessment undertaken by an independent party e.g. an independent commercial audit company, NGO or trade union. Where an independent commercial audit company is used, the auditor(s) should have no connection with the employment site in order to prevent conflicts of interest. Audits may also be undertaken collectively by a group of these stakeholders (multi- stakeholder). That’s audit called Third Party Audit & auditor called Third Party Auditor.
● First Party Audit & Auditor: কোন ফ্যাক্টরি/ কোম্পানি যদি তাদের অডিট নিজ কর্মচারি/ কর্মকর্তা দিয়ে করায় তবে সেই অডিটকে First Party Audit বলে। আর যে অডিটর এই অডিট করে তাকে First Party Auditor বলে। যেমনঃ আমরা নিয়মিত আমাদের ফ্যাক্টরিগুলোতে ইন্টারনাল অডিট করে থাকে, তাই আমাদের এই ইন্টারনাল অডিট টি First Party Audit এবং আমরা এই অডিটে First Party Auditor।
● Second Party Audit & Auditor: বায়ার, বায়িং হাউজ (যাদের সাথে ব্যাবসায়িক সর্ম্পক আছে) থেকে যে অডিট হয়ে থাকে তাকে Second Party Audit বলে। আর যে অডিটর এই অডিট করে তাকে Second Party Auditor বলে। যেমনঃ C&A বায়ার থেকে তাদের নিজস্ব অডিটরগন যে অডিট করে থাকে, সেই অডিট কে Second Party Audit এবং C&A বায়ারের অডিটরদের Second Party Auditor বলে হয়ে থাকে।
●Third Party Audit & Auditor: অডিট কোম্পানি (যেমন, BV, Intertek, Elevate etc), এন.জি. ও, ট্রেড ইউনিয়ন ইত্যাদি (যাদের সাথে কোন ব্যাবসায়িক সর্ম্পক নেই) দ্বারা যে অডিট হয়ে থাকে তাকে Third Party Audit বলে। আর যে অডিটর এই অডিট করে তাকে Third Party Auditor বলে। যেমনঃ Elevate দ্বারা যদি SMETA (SEDEX) Audit করা হয়ে থাকে তবে এই অডিট কে Third Party Audit এবং Elevate এর অডিটরদের Third Party Auditor বলে হয়ে থাকে।
